Library Services: Instructor Reserves

LIBRARY SERVICES

Instructor Reserves

The Library maintains a collection of course reserve materials that consist of textbooks, videos, and supplemental materials related to assigned coursework. Materials are kept at the Periodicals Counter and are placed on reserve at the request of the instructor. The library does not purchase textbooks outside of the copies placed on reserve by instructors.

Requesting Reserves

The instructor determines the loan period for reserve materials. Generally materials must be used in the library for a two-hour loan period. To find if a textbook or other materials are available for your class, search the Library's catalog under Course Reserves. It is best to search by Course Number (ex. ENGL 101) in that an instructor other than yours may have placed the book on reserve. To request a book, fill out an Instructor Reserve Request slip and take it along with your student ID to the Periodicals Counter. Photocopy machines are available for 10 cents a page.

Note: The titles of textbooks for specific classes should be listed in the course syllabus. If you do not know the title, try searching the Rams Bookstore.
